A tiny, miracle baby is born!

Well, I said it would only be a matter of time.....little did know it would be mere hours!!!!

I'm so pleased to say that baby Oscar Benjamin arrived safe and sound at 5.28 am today, weighing in at a teeny, tiny 1lb 8oz. Mum and baby are doing well so far. Obviously there is a long, long way to go for baby Oscar, but he survived the birth really well (far more chilled out than his mum was), he looks physically okay and the first brain scan appears normal. He still seems chilled out in his incubator but he could do with a few prayers until he is out of the danger zone though.

Phew! One exhaused Nanny signing off for now - have to make loads of Thank you cards for the hospital staff and lots of welcome cards for the new baby. I do hope I have time to make my DT items for this weekend too, so I'm busy, busy, busy now.

Sharon xx

Oh Sharon I am so glad for you to hear this news .. things sounded so critical when you said how early the baby was and you and your family have been in my thoughts. Even if the baby need a lot of care to start with, it is so good to know that the news is as good as it can be given what's happened. Hope you will manage to get some rest and things will soon get back onto an even keel
Hugs and welcome to the world for Oliver!

Many congratulations Sharon :-) I sincerely hope all goes well for him, he is sure to be getting the best possible care, I worked in intensive care baby unit so I am aware of the dangers but it's marvelous what can be done to help these tiny ones :-) Here's hoping and praying for him x x x

Oh Sharon, that's such beautiful news. I've been so worried for you all. How brave and strong Oscar is to have made it safely into the world. I lost my first son Flynn at 42 weeks through birth complications and it's music to my ears to hear your little one has escaped our fate and made a safe arival.

We'll continue to keep you all in our thoughts with our fingers crossed that little Oscar gets stronger every day. Look after his Mummy and your darling granddaughter
