Burnt Orange with Nostalgia

Well, I love my card today. The wonderfully talented Karen has given this fab cat picture for inspiration and a fantastic colour combination to work with over at the Colour Create Challenge today. I wasn't sure how I'd get on with it at first after the soft pastels we've had for the last two challenges...but once I got started I really enjoyed using the colours.

So the combination today is: Burnt Orange, Black and Cream with an optional extra of Checks. I do hope some of you will try this -it is a brilliant combination. Just wait till you see the fantastic projects the rest of the talented DT have created with it; they are sure to inspire you.

I'm entering my card into the following challenges:

Crafty Cardmakers - Desert Island (Items I wouldn't be without: A sweet pea stamp, distress inks, glamour dust, lush papers, prima flowers, Martha Stewart punches, foliage punches, beads, ribbon and some sewing thread)

Allsorts Challenge - In Stitches

Tellen's Place - Ink Distressing

ABC - S is for Sparkle (Sparkle on her dress)

Crafty Creations - Distressing (Edges distressed with Dried Marigold and Walnut Stain distress inks)

Items used:

Sweetpea image: Nostalgia

Distress inks: Antique Linen, Tattered Rose, Spiced Marmalade, Dried Marigold, Black soot, Walnut Stain

Glamour Dust

Gold Pen

Prima flowers

Martha Stewart lattice Punch

McGill Pine Branch punch

Velvet ribbon

Black glass seed beads

Papers: DCWV The Linen Closet, PaperMania Capsule Collection Sunshine Paper Pack, free check paper from an Internet search.

We're sponsored today by The Rubber Room and there is $20 Canadian to spend in the store as a prize.

I'd like to send a personal thank you to Victoria and Eileen for being such wonderful guest designers at the Colour Create Challenge. Thanks ladies!

Thanks for looking,

Sharon xx
