Updated: So Far Out Of My Comfort Zone.......

........I feel like I'm in the North Pole.
I've really been struggling with crafter's block recently so, in a "kill or cure" moment, I've gone way out on a limb and created a one layer card!! That is the total opposite of what I normally do.

I just can't believe that a) I've used so few supplies and b) it's all on one layer!
Such a simple scene made of smudged ink and a stamped image inside an area I embossed with a spellbinders die, throw in a sentiment, smudge the edges of the card - and 'Bob's your uncle' as the saying goes.
OMG - no stickles either! Do you think I'm coming down with an illness? lol.

I'm entering this into a few challenges:

A Passion for Papertrey - Out of your comfort zone (sentiment stamp is from the Papertrey Signature Greetings set)
Little Red Wagon - One Layer Card
Paper Play Challenge - Use the word 'Love'
A Spoonfull of Sugar - Blue and Green
Bunny Zoe - Love is in the air

Update: I woke up this morning with the urge to try this card out in different colours and here are the results. I now have a set of 3.
The pink one looks so pretty irl and has a really misty quality about it.
Here's my personal favourite. Love the smoky blackness against the sunset.

Hmm.......maybe I've just started to bring the 'one layer card' into my comfort zone. I do hope so. Anyway, enough chat, now that the mojo is starting to flow again I'd better run off and make some DT items.

Thanks for looking,
Sharon xx

THese are gorgeous - I love the ethereal feeling of them with the soft colors and the striking silhouette! Beautiful, and I'm so glad you stepped out of your comfort zone. I understand completely, I have to make myself break out of the things I like best as well.

Lovely results! Thank you for participating with us at Opus gluei!

These are all such lovely cards and well done on getting out of your comfort zone. I was thinking about one-layer cards recently and quickly dismissed the idea as not my sort of thing (I like lots of stuff on cards) but maybe i should follow your lead and try something different. I just love the embossed shape, never actually thought of doing that in the middle of a card before, thanks for the inspiration. CoB
